Tab + voice recording
Record the browser tab where the bug happens, with optional mic narration. Every frame lines up with the logs, requests and steps behind it.
One click records your tab and voice, plus the console logs, network requests, repro steps and page replay behind them. Hold to mark the bug, talk through it, and AI turns it all into a written report behind a single link.

How it works
No more screenshots, guesswork, or 20-message threads asking which browser you were on.
Hit the Bugcap icon and reproduce the bug. Talk it through, and press and hold anywhere to mark what's wrong.
Console logs, network requests, steps and device info are captured automatically, and your voice is transcribed, all synced to the video.
AI writes the title, summary and repro steps. Share one link instantly, or export a PDF, Markdown or a ZIP with the video.
Features
Record the browser tab where the bug happens, with optional mic narration. Every frame lines up with the logs, requests and steps behind it.
Press and hold anywhere on the page to drop a pin and describe what's wrong, or drag to circle it. Each mark lands on the video timeline at the exact moment.
Talk instead of typing. The note box fills in as you speak, and dictation runs in an isolated extension frame, so the page you're testing can't access your mic.
Just say "this is broken" or "the total should be $129" while you record, and Bugcap drops a note at your pointer. Edit or delete it later, or turn it off in settings.
Every log, warning and uncaught error with full stack traces, timestamped to the exact second in the video.
Every fetch, XHR, WebSocket and beacon with method, status, timing and size. Failed requests include masked headers and bodies, so the failing 500 stands out.
Clicks, form input, dialogs and navigations become readable steps synced to the video, with the requests and errors each one caused. Rage and dead clicks are flagged, and page replay lets you inspect the DOM at any moment.
Browser, OS, viewport, locale, connection and URL on every report, plus LCP, INP, CLS and TTFB so slow pages get flagged. No more "which version?"
Your link is ready the moment you stop. Copy a summary with a GIF straight into Jira, Linear or Slack, or export a PDF, Markdown or ZIP with the video.
AI bug reports
Bugcap turns your narration, notes, errors and failed requests into a report a developer can act on, ready seconds after you stop.
Your narration is transcribed while you record, timestamped next to the video, so nobody has to listen to the whole thing.
A clear title and a short summary of what you were doing, what went wrong and the likely cause, written from your voice, notes, errors and failed requests.
What should have happened, what happened instead, and up to 10 steps a developer can follow to reproduce it.
Each report is rated critical, high, medium or low and tagged with labels like checkout or api. Edit anything before you share it.
Included with a free account. Disconnect the extension to keep a recording fully local.
Connections
Forward each new report automatically. Set it up once for your whole organization.
Connect in one click and pick a database. Each report becomes a page with the link, errors and failed requests.
Send every report to your own endpoint, with custom headers, test sends and a signing secret you can rotate.
Paste a Slack incoming webhook URL and reports arrive as a formatted message in your channel.
Paste a Discord webhook URL and reports arrive as a formatted message in your server.
Failed forwards are retried up to 5 times, and the uploader and admins get an email if one still fails.

Before & after
Checkout is broken again
Works on my machine. Which browser? What were the steps?
Not sure, I just clicked pay?
Can you send a screenshot and the console output?
What's a console?
Pay throws a TypeError in submitPayment and the checkout request returns 500, so the order is never created.
TypeError in submitPaymentPOST /api/checkout 500Pay does nothingFAQ
Without an account, reports stay in your browser until you choose to share a link. When the extension is connected to your bugcap.io account, the recording uploads while you record so the link and AI report are ready the moment you stop; disconnect to keep a recording entirely local. Steps show what was typed so a developer can reproduce the bug, but passwords, emails, phone and card numbers, tokens and anything you mark with data-bugcap-mask are masked, and you can turn typed values off in settings. The video, console logs and failed network responses are uploaded as recorded, so review a report before sharing it. Console and network activity from shortly before you pressed record can be included, marked "pre". Shared reports use unguessable links that aren't indexed by search engines, and anyone with the link can view them.
When the extension is connected, Bugcap sends your narration, notes, a few key-moment screenshots and the masked steps, console errors and failed requests to our server, which uses Cloudflare Workers AI to transcribe the audio and write the title, summary, repro steps, severity and labels. Cloudflare doesn't train on this data. You can edit everything the AI writes, and disconnecting the extension turns AI off.
Bugcap is a Chrome extension and needs Chrome 116 or later. Other Chromium browsers such as Edge, Brave and Arc also work. Firefox and Safari aren't supported. Install it from the Chrome Web Store.
Shared links stay up until you delete them. Delete a link from your dashboard to free up its minutes.
No. Anyone with the link can watch the video, read the AI summary and transcript, and inspect the logs, network requests and device info right in their browser.
Install Bugcap and turn "it's broken" into a fix-ready report your developers will love.
