Terms of service
Last updated: October 25, 2026
These terms cover your use of the Bugcap Chrome extension and the website bugcap.io (together, "the service"). Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.
Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
- Give accurate account information and keep your sign-in credentials and extension connection tokens secure. Sign-in is provided by WorkOS.
- You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has access to it.
Organizations
- Every account belongs to an organization. Shared links and connections belong to the organization, and its members can see them.
- Admins can invite and remove members, edit the organization's details, manage connections and claim an email domain. Admins are responsible for who has access to their organization.
- Only claim an email domain your organization controls. Anyone who signs in with an email address on a claimed domain joins the organization automatically.
- When a member leaves an organization, they lose access to its links and connections, and their extension tokens are revoked.
The service
The extension records bug reports in your browser and lets you export them as files. A bugcap.io account lets you share reports as links. We may change limits and features.
Your content
You own the recordings and reports you create. When you share a report, you give Bugcap a limited license to store, process and serve it, only to run the service, for example to show it to people who have its link.
You're responsible for what you record and share. Recordings can include whatever was on screen, in the console and in network responses, including other people's personal data or confidential information. Only record and share content you have the right to.
Acceptable use
Don't use the service to:
- Upload or share illegal content, malware, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
- Harass, threaten or harm others.
- Record people without the consent the law requires.
- Probe, abuse, overload or try to get around the security or limits of the service.
Fair use of connections and webhooks
Connections and webhooks forward the bug reports your team creates. To keep them working well for everyone:
- Use them for bug reports your team records, not for bulk or automated traffic.
- Webhook endpoints should answer with a 2xx status within 15 seconds.
- We try each delivery up to 5 times, then mark it failed and email the person who shared the report and your organization's admins.
- Don't point webhooks at systems you don't control, or use them to send traffic to third parties.
- We may pause a connection that keeps failing or puts unusual load on the service, and we'll tell you if we do.
Share links
Anyone with a share link can view the report. Links are hard to guess, but treat them as public: send them only to people who should see the report, and delete shares you no longer need from your dashboard. Apps that show link previews, such as Slack, may display the report's title, length, site and thumbnail wherever the link is posted.
Ending your use
You can stop using the service at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or remove accounts or shares that break these terms or put the service or other people at risk.
Trademarks
Bugcap and its logo are ours. Notion, Slack, Discord, Linear, Google, GitHub, Chrome and other third-party names and logos shown on the service are trademarks of their respective owners. We use them only to identify the services Bugcap works with. This doesn't mean those companies endorse, sponsor or are affiliated with Bugcap.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that shared reports will never be lost, so keep your own copies of anything important. To the maximum extent the law allows, Bugcap isn't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the service.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be announced on the site. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the updated terms.
